Alison Tran, MD

Clinical Research Fellow

Dr. Tran is a first-generation physician born and raised in Boston, MA where she completed high school and graduated Summa Cum Laude from a primarily research-based university in Worcester, MA. Dr. Tran initially pursued a PhD in marriage counseling, but decided to obtain a dual master’s degree in psychological counseling and education from Columbia University in New York City due to her passion for increasing multicultural competency in healthcare and mental health administration.

During her graduate training, she learned about psycho-somatization, which is the conversion of mental health illness into physical symptoms. Fascinated with the idea of mind-body holism, Dr. Tran researched the connection between the mind and skin, as the skin is the largest organ and became interested in the emerging field of psychodermatology and the provision of comprehensive medical and mental health treatment. After graduating from Columbia with high honors, Dr. Tran enrolled at Harvard University’s health career program and obtained her post-baccalaureate premedical training. She then went on to complete her medical education at Frank H. Netter School of Medicine in North Haven, CT with high distinction in medical humanities. Dr. Tran just completed her post graduate preliminary training at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and specialized in general surgery. She has an avid interest in inflammatory disorders, immunology, psychodermatology and procedural dermatology/Moh’s surgery.

Her hobbies include attending church, spending time with family/loved ones, watching comedy or action films and DJ’ing.
