Research Fellowship Program

Research Fellowship Program

Location: Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas

Program Director: Alan Menter, MD

Availability: July 2015

Requirements: Applicant should have completed a minimum of a PGY1 year by their start date; must obtain a Texas Medical License prior to beginning the clinical research fellowship.

Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, has an opening for a two year clinical research fellow beginning July 2015 under the direction of Alan Menter, MD, an internationally recognized clinician and researcher in the field of psoriasis. The fellowship is designed for physicians who have completed an internship by 6/30/15 or earlier and are eligible to be a licensed physician. Applicants must have completed USMLE Step 3 as well as the Texas jurisprudence examination in order to secure a Texas license prior to starting the fellowship.

The fellowship involves becoming the sub-investigator on multiple phase I-IV clinical research trials for psoriasis as well as other conditions (e.g. atopic dermatitis). The fellow would be expected to publish and present at local and national meetings as well as attend research and investigator meetings. In addition, the fellow can participate in general dermatology clinics, with opportunity to attend Baylor University Medical Center Grand Rounds, kodachrome conference, journal club, dermatopathology conference, Dallas Dermatology Society meetings, and present cases at twice monthly Baylor Tumor Board meetings. The pay and benefits are competitive with similar Dermatology Research Fellowships around the country.

Completing the fellowship will not guarantee acceptance to any dermatology residency program, but the experience is geared towards enhancing this possibility. This fellowship program has a near perfect record of matching its participants into a residency program.

How to Apply: Applicants for the Research Fellowship Program should send a letter of interest, CV, 3 letters of recommendation, and official medical transcript by email, fax, or snail mail to:
